Input protection for the IC693ALG221 is sufficient to work with reduced performance with up to 200 V in common mode settings. This module also allows electrical isolation of external noise.

All field connections require a good grade twisted, shielded instrumentation cable connected to the COM or GND. An LED indicator monitors power supply operation. The main power source specific to the IC693ALG221 is +24 VDC supplied PLC power routed through an inverter for the module. IC693ALG221 uses power from the +5 VDC output to drive isolation circuitry.

The IC693ALG221 input module from GE Fanuc is an analog input module that comes with 4 inputs. It is a member of the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 product line. One of the most common applications for the IC693ALG221 input module is to use it to convert analog input signals into digital signals that can be used by digital applications.

This input module can operate with 2 different current ranges which are 0 to 20 milliamps or 4 to 20 milliamps. The 4 input channels only take approximately 2 milliseconds to update. The resolution of the inputs is 4 microamps at 4 to 20 milliamps, and it is 5 microamps 0 to 20 milliamps. The IC693ALG221 input module features an accuracy rating 0.1% at the full scale.

The GE Fanuc IC693ALG221 analog input module consumes about 25 milliamps of power at a voltage rating of 5 Volts DC and it consumes about 100 milliamps of power at a voltage rating of 24 Volts DC when it is in operation under normal conditions. It can be installed in virtually any available rack in a GE PLC system.

The PLC will supply the IC693ALG221 input module with its required power. The inputs on this module are labeled with the number 1 to 4. The operators of the module can select which channels that they want to use with the 2 range jumpers that are connected to the input module. One of the range jumpers is for input channels 1 and 2 and the other jumper is for input channels 3 and 4.
